“It did no good to cry, she had learned that early on. She had also learned that every time she tried to make someone aware of something in her life, the situation just got worse. Consequently, it was up to her to solve her problems by herself, using whatever methods she deemed necessary”. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a psychological thriller that is the first part of the Millennium Trilogy. This depicts the story of a socially awkward woman with a photographic memory. Lisbeth Salander and a detective Mikael Blomkvist. It depicts the investigation plot of a girl named Harriet Vanger who disappeared over 40 years ago during a family gathering. Henrik Vanger, her uncle receives an anonymous dried flower on his birthday and he is seeking the truth for so many years. Henrik appoints Mikael to investigate her disappearance. Later he is joined by tattooed punk prodigy and hacker Lisbeth as Research Assistant. They both start working and get some references from Harriet’s Journal, Book of Leviticus, photos of Family gatherings, and whatnot. They find some dark secrets of the family which will leave you shocked. They both receive threats as Vangers are a secretive clan, and have to protect themselves. If you are a mystery lover, then you should definitely read this. This book is full of thrill, family drama and of course love. I am a big fan of the bravery of Lisbeth Salander as she has done everything to save herself from the violence happening against women prevailing in the society.
