GONE WITH THE WIND

MARGARET MITCHELL

Reading historical dramas with twist and turns is an amazing experience. And some of them remind us that there always is hope, and hope even for those deemed 'misfits' by the society. One such classic is "Gone with the wind" by Margaret Mitchell. The book is set in the times of the American Civil War and the succeeding reconstructions. It talks about two people who didn't fit into the society because of their unique views and actions, and how both of them reacted to different situations. Rhett Butler is an outcast from his native Charleston and he is definitely not a gentleman. Katie Scarlett O'Hara is a spoilt lady who wants to have all that she wishes for. But what happens when she wishes for something she doesn't even want in the first place? Not everything is as simple as it seems. Why you feel something is not your choice; it's involuntary. But will Scarlett finally find the calm in her chaos and the twinkle of light in the mist? Or will it be too late? Not only that but also this one can impact how people stereotype women. The transformation of the characters during the book will keep your eyes glued to the book.
